Escorted Groups:
Escorted group holidays are an excellent way for travellers to visit parts of the world that they might otherwise be unable to see without endless time and patience.

An escorted group usually comprises between 10 to 15 people who are accompanied by an experienced guide. A typical group will contain people who have joined either by themselves or with a friend or spouse, thus giving the group a good social mix. Our client feedback indicates that travelling within a group is often one of the best aspects of our clients' holidays, as lasting friendships are made and there is
a real sense of fun and shared enjoyment.

On most of the group holidays we arrange single travellers are not required to pay more as you are simply roomed with another person of the same sex. If you wish to request a single room where possible, there is an extra charge for this.

Accommodation is dictated by the destination concerned - this might be onboard a felucca on the Nile, in a yurt in Mongolia or at a luxury lodge in Botswana. On most trips the accommodation chosen is locally owned and in keeping with the character of the destination, whilst offering the best combination of cleanliness, friendliness and value for money.

Similarly, methods of getting about on group trips vary enormously and depending on the terrain might be by expedition trucks or 4WD, train or riverboat, bikes or kayaks, or even on elephants or camels! As with the accommodation, the means of transport is often one of the key dimensions in the fabric of the trip.

Independent, 'Self-guided' and 'Self-drive' holidays:

If you wish to enjoy the pre-arranged structure of a group holiday but wish to travel independently, then there is a wide range of self-guided options that we can discuss with you. Holiday possibilities can include walking, cycling, kayaking, and self-drive based itineraries.

On such holidays you will be provided with a detailed itinerary description and easy-to-follow route instructions. You do not need to worry about the international flights, arranging your hotels or working out the best route - all this has been done for you. The accommodation at each day's journey's end is pre-booked so all you need to do is to ensure that you arrive in time for your evening meal! On walking, cycling and kayaking based itineraries, your luggage is transferred to your next destination for you.

Europe is an excellent place to explore on such self-guided itineraries and amongst the many possibilities are walking in Burgundy, cycling in Sicily, and fly-drives in Corsica. Further afield you can kayak among the spectacular sea cliffs of Krabi, or explore the national parks and wildlife of Australia and New Zealand on a self-drive holiday.

Fly-drive options are especially good for couples or families who wish to travel off the beaten track but still have a framework within which to travel, so that they can rely on arrangements being in place. South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Australia, New Zealand, The United States and Canada are all great places in which to have an independent self-drive holiday.
