Congratulations againto Steve Bulford whom we were delighted to announce earlier this year as the winner of our 2007 travel photo competition! Steve’s stunning image entitled ‘Follow Me’ of a polar bear mum in mid-jump with her 2 cubs close behind was taken on his expedition voyage to Spitsbergen in August. He has won £100 off a future holiday and his lovely picture, below, is on display in our office for all to enjoy!
Testimony to the photographic opportunities afforded by polar voyages is the fact that amongst the final contenders in 2007 were Tony Flay with his picture of a mother penguin and 2 chicks, and similarly Stephen and Lucy Chalk with their lovely image which, like Steve’s, featured a polar bear mother with cubs. Also in the frame (so to speak) were Joe Holroyd and Maria Heard for their wonderful underwater photo taken in the Red Sea, Liz Joslin for her sequence of lowland gorilla images taken in Gabon and Peter Nickol for his endearing picture of a big smiling family group taken in Lesotho.
Given the popularity of the competition it is running again in 2008 with the same simple rules: the image must be taken on a trip arranged through Nomadic Travel and date from within this calendar year. We will accept entries in any format – traditional print or digital. Please note that printed photos sent by post cannot be returned. We look forward to seeing more of your wonderful images – keep snapping and good luck!
