Tailor-made
TravelTailor-made holidays offer complete flexibility and control over your itinerary. They are ideal if you want the reassurance of having everything (or part of) a holiday pre-arranged, but dislike the idea of having to join a group or have an appointed tour guide. You decide where, when, and for how long you want to stay, how you want to travel and what standard of accommodation you require. We can arrange as much or as little local assistance as you wish.
Tailor-made holidays can be arranged throughout the world, including South America and the Galapagos Islands, Easter Island and Antarctica , the United States (including Alaska), Canada, Central Asia, India and Sri lanka, the south east Asian countries of Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Malaysia, as well cultural tours of China and Japan. In addition, we are able to put together completely tailored itineraries in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific Islands, as well as tailored safaris in eastern and southern Africa, or self-drive holidays in South Africa or Namibia.
As agents, we at Nomadic Travel work closely with the very best tailor-made holiday companies in the UK, often knowing the person in a particular company to contact for in-depth knowledge of a particular destination. This, combined with our own travel experience, means we are extremely well placed to help arrange your ideal holiday for you. Here are some guidelines to consider when planning a tailor-made itinerary:
International flights
Flights can be in Economy Class or may be upgraded to Business or First
Class accordingly. Some airlines offer additional leg-room in certain parts
of the cabin if you wish for something halfway between Economy and Business
Class. For example, British Airways have a 'World Traveller Plus' service
on certain routes which allows for 38" of leg-room.

Stopovers
For long-haul destinations there is commonly a number of possible stopover
options en route which can add an excellent dimension to your journey. For
example, flights to New Zealand can incorporate stopovers in such places
as Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong, Los Angeles or the Cook Islands, often
at no additional flight cost. We can arrange for you to be met and transferred
to a hotel and, if you wish, book short half or full day tours. A city sightseeing
tour of Singapore, a 4WD 'Sundowner Dune Dinner' in Dubai, or a luxurious
stay in an 'overwater bungalow' in Bora Bora, are just a sample of possible
stopover options.
Airport transfers
Bespoke itineraries usually include all transfers from your arrival airport
to your hotel, as well as the transfer back to the airport at your journey's
end.
Accommodation
We can arrange anything from a characterful 3-star tourist hotel through
to sumptuous 5-star luxury abodes. The destination will often dictate the
styles and types of accommodation available. In India, for instance, it
is hard to beat the time honoured luxury of one of the classic heritage
hotels, whilst in South Africa you may prefer a suite in a private game
reserve, or a family run guest house on the Garden Route. Where appropriate,
'room-only', bed and breakfast, half or full board meal arrangements are
possible and can be specified according to your requirements.
Please note that there is no universal hotel classification system and you should not judge accommodation ratings by European standards. For example, a 4 star hotel in parts of South America is unlikely to be of the same standard as a 4 star hotel in Singapore or Tokyo.
Domestic flights
The use of internal flights can enhance an itinerary enormously by allowing
you to visit more easily the particular highlights of a country. By removing
the need for long days of surface travel by road or rail, flying domestically
can make the journey far more comfortable and enjoyable. Domestic flights
when added in conjunction with international flights are often excellent
value and should not be discounted when assembling potential itineraries.
Surface travel
We can arrange for the use of private transfers between your various ports
of call with a local driver/guide, or make reservations for train, coach
and river journeys accordingly. All forms of transportation can be incorporated
into your chosen itinerary, depending on the destination; from high-speed
'bullet' trains in Japan to riverboats on the Nile, and light aircraft to
access remote safari camps in East Africa to the use of camels to traverse
the desert landscape of Wadi Rum!
Guides
The use of a local English-speaking guide can ensure that an itinerary runs
smoothly and that you have the help of a knowledgeable expert for your visits
to places of interest. Guides are not essential to bespoke itineraries,
however, and you may only wish to have a guide for a specified destination
within an overall trip or have no guided assistance whatsoever - again,
the choice is always yours.
