We’re always on the lookout for new safari locations and our good friends at Safari Consultants have recently visited Gorongosa in Mozambique and given it rave reviews.
Following an 18-year conservation effort, Gorongosa now offers excellent game viewing and Rob Slater, MD of Safari Consultants says he was blown away by its beauty.
“I knew it would be interesting and exclusive, and going somewhere for the first time is always exciting, but I didn’t realise it would be so scenically stunning. From fever tree forests to open floodplains and mahogany groves, I was mesmerised. We had excellent game viewing, but beyond that I really loved the landscapes of the park and the authentic wilderness feel. At times we went hours without encountering anyone else.”

Gorongosa is best visited from June onwards when the floodplains dry out and good wildlife viewing continues through to September / October.
