Our ‘Big Three’ small group adventure operators Exodus, Intrepid and Explore have all now published their programmes for 2024 and so there’s a whole range of exciting new trips for us to shout about.   We’ve featured a selection of our personal favourites here but there’s not enough space to list them all, so get in touch to find out more about any new trips running in your favourite countries.

Cycling adventures in Italy, Portugal & India

Exodus have unveiled their new cycling tours for 2024, looking as usual to take their clients well off the beaten track.

Their ‘Italy Coast to Coast By E-Bike: Puglia to Sorrento’ trip ’ explores Matera’s ancient cave district, the breathtaking mountainside village of Castelmezzano and the Greek temples of Paestum. The trip ends by cycling one of the world’s most spectacular coastal roads to Sorrento via Amalfi. The 8-day trip starts from £2749 plus flights.

Meanwhile, their ‘Cycling the Coastal Portuguese Camino’ trip starts in Porto and follows the coast northwards via the towns of Esposende, Viana do Castelo and Oia to conclude in Galicia at the  pilgrimage Cathedral of St James in Santiago de Compostela.  This 8-day tour costs from £1999 plus flights.

‘Cycle the Coast of Kerala’ offers the opportunity to enjoy superb India cuisine and houseboat excursions on the Kerala backwaters, with colourful temples, fishing villages passed en route from the old spice port of Cochin to the beach town of Varkala.  Prices from £1299 plus flights.

Kyrgyzstan Walking Explorer

As well as their cycling adventures Exodus are known for their exceptional hiking itineraries and new for 2024 is this breathtaking walking trip in Kyrgyzstan, nicknamed the ‘Switzerland of Central Asia’.

Enjoy hikes through the splendour of the Tian Shan mountains and the Ala-Archa Gorge whilst passing a multitude of crystalline alpine lakes. Also experience the nomadic traditions of the region with an unforgettable two-night stay at a lakeside yurt before returning to the bustling capital city of Bishkek.

This trip runs between May and September 2024 and prices start from £1499 plus flights.

Sardinia & Corsica Sailing Adventure

Intrepid Travel continue to be one of the most innovative of trip-designers amongst the adventure operators and have launched for 2024 a brand new sailing journey that takes in the best of Sardinia and Corsica.

Set sail across some of the most transparent, bluest water in the Mediterranean as you hop from Portisco to Bonifacio, stopping to snorkel among the coves of Caprera or find a quiet spot on a white sandy beach in Isola Santo Stefano. Climb the King Aragon Steps in Corsica, bush walk through wild national parks or explore Maddalena Island..

Wake up in a new spot each day, with the freedom to do as much or as little as you please, then at night, watch the sunset from the deck of your group’s yacht and fall asleep to the undulating waves beneath you.

This 8-day trip starts from £1717 plus flights.

‘South Korea Family Holiday’

Also with Intrepid, this eight-day trip offers an action-packed holiday for adventurous families.

You’ll explore South Korea’s capital Seoul, with a delicious feast of Korean BBQ, enjoy scenic views over Naksan Mountain with plenty of free time to choose your own local excursions. Visit the fascinating and sobering DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) from the South Korean side and walk through Mangwon night market for some tasty street food.

Experience a day in the life of a monk at Golgulsa Temple and try your hand at archery, meditation and Sunmudo (traditional martial arts).

Explore the Golden City of Gyeongju and create a family motto at a calligraphy class, over two days spent in traditional Hanok style accommodation.

Head to Busan and check out the local cultural village, coastal scenery and awesome activities on offer before finally heading back to Seoul.

This truly is a fast-moving holiday.

‘Best of Australia’

Intrepid have created a new trip ‘down under’ to appeal to all first-time and time-pressed visitors to Australia on this 12-day adventure.

See all the sites of Sydney including the Opera House, Hyde Park plus a tour around the Harbour with a First Nations guide.

Visit the World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains seeing the gorgeous scenery of Wentworth Falls and the Three Sisters on foot and from above on the skyway.

Discover the ever-changing colours of Uluru, one of Australia’s most spiritually significant sites, as you marvel at the epic sandstone monolith at both sunrise and sunset.

Embark on a guided walk through Kata Tjuta (formerly known as The Olgas) and take a short hike across the famous Kings Canyon plateau.

Take a full-day sailing and snorkelling tour of the Great Barrier Reef from Port Douglas, learning about the underwater ecosystem and the fragility of the environment from professional marine biologists.

‘Best of Argentina, Bolivia and Chile’

One of Explore’s new trips is a biggie! An epic journey through three South American countries.

Expect out-of-this-world landscapes and mind-blowing scenery around every corner on this 13-day tour, packed with unforgettable moments including:

Wine-tasting in Cafayate, Argentina –  Sample the finest wines and enjoy a traditional lunch at a vineyard, with the spectacular mountains beyond as your backdrop.

A stay in a salt hotel next to Bolivia’s famous salt flats – Travel in 4x4s to the Uyuni salt flats, where you’ll get to take those iconic photos as all perspective gets confused! Settle down on the flats at sunset and marvel at the vast expanse changing colour before night falls, bringing some incredible stargazing opportunities.

Sunset apertifs in Moon Valley, in Chile’s Atacama Desert – Watch the golden hour glow creep over the otherworldly landscape made up of sand dunes, sharp peaks and canyons.
